'Alpine dogs' - How to photograph dogs in Landscape & Adventure sessions

5 day Workshop for Pro Pet Photographers

Join Sarah and Anne in beautiful Switzerland!

Benefit from the experience of two successful european dog photographers specialized in dogs in landscape and adventure shoots and enjoy the workshop in a small group of like minded photographers. The mountain scenery with high peaks, glaciers, waterfalls and lakes is our playground for five days of dog photography, business and theory classes as well as editing and image review. You might think this will be a strenuous event, but all the locations are carefully selected to access with a short and easy hike. Some of the highlights are: a visit to Europe’s largest glacier, the ice blue water at Sustenpass and the clear alpine lakes with the perfect mirror at Grimselpass.

Locations

Grimselpass

Grimsel is a high mountain pass 2163 meters above sea level. It is accessible by car and the closest pretty photo spots only require a short walk. The rough landscape with bare rocks and small moss vegetation has a nordic feel to it. Grimselpass is surrounded by high mountains with glaciers – the water coming from the melting glaciers and seasonal snow is captured in large dammed lakes. They look like the Fjords in Norway. Also there are tons of smaller lakes – perfect for pictures with a mirror. In the valley below we find pine trees and waterfalls.

The Great Aletsch Glacier

As the name implies, Aletsch is the largest glacier on the European mainland. Although melting rapidly, it still looks mighty and impressive. From the gondola station there is an easy hike that takes one along the ridge of the glacier – always with a good view down to the icy stream. A must see!

Sustenpass

The second mountain pass we will visit for a whole day. It is also easily accessible by car. Its beauty lies in the astonishing deep ice blue water streams that originate from ‘Stein Glacier’ and the huge rocks piling up along the trail. There are also various mountain lakes and small but pretty vegetation.
